Business Alliance

Page history last edited by Bryan Colligan 11 mos ago

For this change to occur not every company and need must be started from scratch.  This concentration or Goal is to network with another Green alliance create a green alliance and inspire companies that have truly ethical motives and mission statements to join our alliance.

The rapport on this page should be goal based ideas to accomplish a network of Green companies so that everything needed one day is provided food, shelter, clothing, etc.

Questions posed

What are some unions and trade alliances that are available and have mission statements that are ethical or Green based?

  1. Join the Earth Charter. With a powerful positive pre-endorsed mission statement
  2. Pike Place --Seatle local grown delivery service??  --We could make a whole enterprise on this across the country --Moved to Companies for transition
  3.  Contacted farm fresh connection with this  email to farm fresh connection -- Farm fresh is a local growers distribution service....
  4. Contacted Cereplast(NON-OIL Plastic)  Plastic comapny that creates biodegradable plastic from straches.

ask for an interview with said companies and ask important questions on their goals and capabilities how do they exist?

Start Networking with:

  •  Green fuel companies --biofuel companies,
  • Recycled plastic manufacturers,
  • local grower associations,
  • solar panel shops
  • add your idea!!!

(Chibi this could get you some  free solar panels for your town)--- chibi erase after reading

Long Term goal...

Create a network where every possible service needed is at one webpage,

this webpage gives incentives to members to keep using it and adds services as needed ebay style and local... a green craigslist,

food that is locally grown, a haircut from the hair dresser down the street, lawn care, plumber etc.

Re long term goal ...

Hmmm I think it would be important to clarify our specific purpose in this. we already have a natural choice directory, but it is still based on ads paid to advertise rather than ecological ratings.

Best ways to put the word out to create the "Seattle Green List" or whatever we call it:

Social networks Sites Blogs linked and optimized
Bizcards with website or wiki invite on card

We need a team of probably at least three people to set up the basic infrastructure fo
the site:
We could participate in farmers markets to set up the local produce connections and set up organic local food delivery routes.
Pike place has plenty of these lovely produce people too.

Put up distinctive Ads At any health related establishment build a Brand Recognition

Housing/ Shelter
Best guess is to talk to intentional communities in town as well as real estate organizations and larger corporations or who may want to fund social improvement projects to help support the a sustainable Seattle.

Maybe we could create a means to convert a neighborhood that decides to adopt the plan as a model like freemont (they are already the center of the universe) . Or maybe a really rundown area would be better and it would probably be easier to build in If we are talking about involving eco-construction.

Questions:
1) a good way to find others to align with might be to do some aligning ourselves first. Idea: Join the Earth Charter. With a powerful positive pre-endorsed mission statement- endorsed by many others- it might be easier to draw in a crowd. Nothing draws a crowd like a crowd.

Beyond local Farmers market and the Pike Place Market

I think Coconut Bliss is a great product and if we worked together that this would also be a very yummy endeavour.
(don't underestimate the power of yummy) They have the yummiest non-dairy ice cream product on earth.
That may be incentive enough for a lot of people if they find out that eating coconut bliss is involved in this sustainability project.

Wellness Practices and groups. I am thinking that health and wellness organizations, holistic practitioners, Naturopathic doctors, acupuncturists, wellness centers etc. can be researched to see who has what kind of practices and unions etc. I would look for those who do not primarily deal with corrupting pharmaceutical or insurance companies.

Bio-diesel Coops.

Permaculture organizations

I think creating or being a part of really fun events is a huge factor in success also. Fun is a necessary ingredient for sustainability. I also believe that Zeitgeist 2 has been a huge success in how much it has been seen on the web. More of these videos would be great and more targeted ones related to local areas exposing the problems faced on a local level using media as well as featuring companies and individuals who are offering viable solutions. Imagine a Zeitgeist Seattle video on youtube! Also having community gatherings linked to a network site like Biznik would be pretty amazing too.
We can do interviews and create digital films easier than ever with the current technology.

Independent Media Groups:(Movie Makers, Permaculture- Entrepreneurs, and photojournalists, camera people etc) who post regularly on the web in an organized documentary style. This may be the most powerful way to get the word out. Most of the independent media I have seen is without video. (maybe I just haven't found the good sites).

daenin...."Or maybe a really rundown area would be better and it would probably be easier to build in If we are talking about involving eco-construction." They are giving away sections of run down row houses in balitmore and philly. This could be a possibility...

Please consider this next comment, however this is a real showstopper down the road that we don't have to solve today.

we need to watch out for the term currency because we'll get shut down or have to pay real tax on said currency. I was thinking of what they did in ithaca... ithaca hours or Community service Hours or make prices 10% in actual dollars for tax purposes. What I heard happening in england was that people that were making thier own biodiesel found it not worth it after the tax imposed.

Perhaps an area based plan area should be developed for project management as per the green list idea just to get started.
We have a west coast and east coast contingent already.

and just go with the Be the change banner. I kinda like the sound of the "be the change foundation", is that taken?

I also defiietely think we are community organizers sheesh!

Hmm yeah a trade hour organization sounds good, and with all these points "enticement" seems key. What will attract and inspire people to get involved. Attracting the specific types of skill-sets and technical know how to do this for real.

strategies:

humanitarian need

long term abundance for all reasoning

immediate benefits for joiners and donators (both sustainers and visionaries) consider 501c3 or foundation status

The power of fun social events

I like "be the change foundation" l

et's go with that I thought more people would be adding to this already but not yet

but today I contacted farm fresh connection out of maine and believe they are a great proof of concept for "Gaia's exchange"

Anyways I have had a great breakthrough with web development and how to reproduce a site like this one so I am going to try to help with the farm fresh infrastructure see what kind of payments they pay and how they have marketed this
