In this country that we love, it is essential to work together effectively without disadvantage to anyone to be a sustainable thriving community with a high quality of life.

Some initial suggestions to consider in working together effectively:

1. Explore alternative decision making models in other countries that emphasize working together effectively such as the Dutch-developed Sociocracy. Learning how to create an effective consent-based way to make decisions where people will feel well represented, understood and respected is needed. Sociocracy can harness the collective power and intelligence of a group to create solutions to very complex problems in a short amount of time without disadvantage to anyone. One group in the US working with sociocracy is called Next Step Together. This system of "governance together" is a simple, elegant and efficient way of joining together people, organizations, corporations and potentially governments who choose to be a part of humanities emerging sustainability. One of the biggest problem that we face is learning how to work together and not be too selfishly focussed on our own individual needs from perceived scarcity even though in terms of resources we are actually rich! 
2. Use Conscious Language to become a more effective communicator. Being more effective means being congruent in word and deed. Conscious Language creates clarity and quickens the pace of realizing chosen goals.
3. Create Stable Resource Networks. Create Wiki pages for resource networks in your area.  If times get tough, and the internet is compromised own a Ham radio and be connected to others with ham radios in a network to maintain connection and keep resources available. Remember that community and the wise management of our resources is more valuable than money. Set up grassroots community based networks to take care of as many of your needed resources as possible.  This includes food, shelter, education, healthcare and all our natural resources. Perhaps you can create a resource group of progressive corporations to begin working on a sustainable community model that acts as a first step on the way to a resource based economy. 4. Barter, this is a good stop-gap survival measure until a Resource Based Economy can be built where the worlds resources are held as the common heritage of all of humanity.
5. Get to know your neighbors
6. Overcome class prejudice. Here is a link to an Video on the Moral Mind featuring Jonathon Haidt on the TED talks. It brilliantly reveals how what people value on a deep level shapes their politics. It helped me to understand how to overcome prejudice between classes.
7. Use and develop local currency in your biz and community. This is a move toward economic independance from the fractional reserve banking system and the corporate elite.   It also encourages money be circulated within the community rather than to the Corporotocracy.
8. Choose a Resource-Based Economy. Watch zeitgeist 2 addendum toward the end they show info on a project called The Venus Project. In a fully-developed resource-based economy we would have enough time and resources to truly work together. 
9. Use your power to organize boycotts of the corporations that are actively ignoring sustainability or holding back its progress.  Many corporations exist which do this. The most powerful and damaging of which may be the Banking Cartel members: Citibank, JP Morgan Chase and Bank of America. if you bank with them- switch banks! If you own their stock- sell it! If you work for them, quit! This will express contempt for their practices and it is a beginning of how we can put power back in the hands of the people rather than in the hands of a few bankers. If we do not do this, we will continue to be economically manipulated by these powers. If we do boycott them, we will have more room to move and effectively work together. The greatest fear of the power elite is that we will get organized. And an even deeper fear for many of them may be that their is nothing stable enough to replace the messed up system that they no longer want to be a part of.
